CARDIOVASCULAR - REHABILITATION

Cardiovascular rehabilitation, often called cardiac rehabilitation, is a supported programme that helps people recover after a heart attack, heart surgery or diagnosis of heart failure. It combines safe, individually tailored exercise with advice about medicines, healthy eating, weight, smoking, stress and emotional wellbeing.

Sessions may be offered in groups, online or through a home-based programme, according to your needs and fitness. Taking part can rebuild confidence, improve quality of life and reduce the likelihood of another heart attack or hospital admission. The links on this page explain what cardiac rehabilitation involves, how to access support and continue protecting your heart at home.
